Environment: nature and our surroundings

Care for the environment has been a matter of course within our companies for years. When making new investments, we always ensure that we at least meet the required standards as regards noise and emissions. Furthermore, our companies are organised in such a way that the risks of contamination of one mineral by another, and also of the environment, are reduced to a minimum if not obviated altogether.

Responsible Mining

Sibelco Europe MineralsPlus is not prepared to mine its minerals at any cost. Before exploitation can be started, landscape architects make a meticulous plan for the redevelopment of the area, which subsequently has to be approved by the government. The excavated top soil is used in the redevelopment. The countryside is then able to develop once more. As a result, unique landscapes develop which stand out because of their great diversity of flora and fauna.

Recycling

Sibelco Europe MineralsPlus aims to make maximum use of secondary raw materials. We view this as a big responsibility and challenge to do all we can in order to save primary sources and, therefore, also the natural environment. We consider this aspect to be a part of our end product too.
