The products Sibelco Europe MineralsPlus supplies to the glass industry are used as pigments and quality improvers. They are used in sheet, packaging and lighting glass.

Sheet glass

The basic ingredients for glass are always the same. However, Portafer ranks second on the list of important ingredients because it ensures the required constant iron content and limits the transfer of heat radiation.

Packaging glass

As regards packaging glass, we primarily supply pigments. The minerals Portachrom, Mangalox and Portafer give glass a beautiful, deep colour, ranging form uniform green, brown or yellow to violet. Sibelco Europe MineralsPlus also supplies Vitroflux, a mineral with high fluxing properties, which helps to reduce production costs.
